Over the years, DDPET has given more than 60 small grants to projects which have improved and extended environmental consciousness and enjoyment in the Denby Dale area.
These projects have been in schools, woodlands, ponds, hedgerows and churchyards. They have involved exploration, cultivation, education, training, walking digging and building.
In addition through the larger sums available through the Landfill Community Fund (LCF) the trust has helped broker the purchase and development of land for two Millennium Greens, thriving community woodlands, an area of heathland and a valuable site of unspoiled natural grassland. Most recently we have helped to provide a MUGA (Multi Use Games Area) for young people in a rural village through LCF funding from Biffaward.
